Mishka Shreya Mukherji
Assistant DirectorMishka Shreya Mukherji has been learning dance and production design from Mayur’s director Sukanya Mukherji for over 30 years. She has performed as a soloist and as a part of Mayur’s troupe at all kinds of venues domestically and abroad over the last two decades. Mishka works with students of all ages, and sincerely enjoys teaching. She regularly seeks teaching opportunities to improve her effectiveness as an Odissi dance trainer and choreographer, and incorporates takeaways into her own lessons.
She brings her enthusiasm for the humanities, qualitative research, and writing to her role as Assistant Artistic Director at Mayur, helping to develop thoughtful production narratives and evaluate their impact.
In addition to continuing her dance education, Mishka shares her guru’s passion for developing young artists, instilling technical rigor, and experimenting with forms and narrative. Working with her guru, she hopes to help establish a steady place for Indian dance in the performing arts world, and above all, sustain a fun and inclusive educational and cultural community.
